Dalet Selects Harmonic's Rhozet(TM) Transcoding Technology
Video journalists in the field edit video using their laptops and upload finished packages to headquarters using a customized store-and-forward video hub application developed using Rhozet video transcoding technology. Since burdensome transcoding and publishing functions are handled behind-the-scenes, journalists can focus their attention on content rather than on repetitive tasks.
"We're impressed with the Rhozet transcoding capabilities and the ease in which we have been able to integrate these capabilities with the Dalet core engine to meet the requirements of our customers," said Kevin Savina, Director of Product Management at Dalet Digital Media Systems.
"Dalet's proven technology is used by major broadcasters and content providers to facilitate the management of video assets," said David Trescot, Vice President of the Rhozet Business Unit at Harmonic Inc. "Carbon Coder transcoding technology expands their offering by providing a significant increase in workflow efficiencies for these customers."
Harmonic's Rhozet Carbon Coder is a universal transcoding application that facilitates the transfer of media between a variety of platforms, including acquisition, editing, playout, archive, the Internet and mobile devices. Carbon Coder can run as a stand-alone application or as part of a multi-node, fully-automated rendering farm. Carbon Coder provides high-performance, scalable and cost-effective transcoding for a broad range of business environments, from specialized studios to enterprise-scale installations.
