SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 27, 2007--At the IPTV World Forum booth #134, Harmonic Inc. (NASDAQ:HLIT) will feature its latest generation DiviCom(R) Electra(TM) 7000 high definition (HD) MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) encoder demonstrating superior HD picture quality at ultra-low bit-rates. On-demand systems including the Armada(R) intelligent asset manager and StreamLiner(R) network video recorder -- the world's most deployed telco/IPTV video-on-demand (VOD) solution -- will also be on display. In addition, Harmonic's best-in-class digital video products have been honored as finalists in three of the five categories for the inaugural IPTV World Series Awards to be presented at this year's event, taking place March 5-7 in London.

The Electra 7000 HD H.264 encoder is nominated for the Best IPTV Headend and Video Processing Technology award, while Armada is short listed in the Best IPTV Distribution/Transport/Delivery category. Harmonic's ProStream(TM) 1000 stream processing platform with ProCipher(TM) scrambling technology has been selected as a finalist for Best IPTV Content Protection/Rights Management Solution.
